Lolita comes with many, many, MANY styles, coming with many colour schemes and motifs. There are a few staple styles, which are also the most accessible to beginner lolitas:
Sweet
Sweet lolita is characterised by plenty of bows and frills, filled to the brim with
patterns with toys, sweets and treats.
Commonly used colours include: pinks, white, sax (light-blue) and mint-green.
Gothic
Gothic lolita (sometimes called 'Goth-loli) features coords with darker themes, whether in colour or patterns. Cobwebs, skulls, and
Victorian elements are prominent motifs.
Commonly used colours include: black, white, red, purple.
Classical
Classical lolita is the most historicaly accurate out of all the different styles, as it is a more mature style, attempting
to capture the same elegance of a Victorian lady.
Commonly used colours and motifs: green, purple, brown, beige, flowers, and Victorian stylings.
Old-school
This is less of a self-explained style, as it targets the designs of the 80s-90s, incoporating trending pieces from the time,
such as rocking-horse shoes.
Common colours and motifs: black, red, white, pink, tartan.
